1. Using the app

Toayen helps you plan gifts for the people you care about. You can use the core features (adding people, gift ideas, events, and notes) without creating an account. Personalised suggestion features require signing in with Apple.

2. Your data

You own all the data you enter into Toayen. Your people, gift ideas, notes, and preferences are stored on your device and are your responsibility to back up. We do not have access to your on-device data. See our Privacy Policy for details on what data reaches our servers.

3. Accounts

If you create an account via Sign in with Apple, you are responsible for maintaining access to your Apple ID. You can delete your account at any time from the app's Settings, which permanently removes all your server-side data.

4. Personalised suggestions

The personalised gift suggestion feature is provided as a helpful tool. Suggestions are generated by a third-party AI service (Anthropic Claude) and may not always be accurate, appropriate, or available. Specifically:

• Product suggestions may include items that are out of stock, discontinued, or differently priced
• Product URLs may link to incorrect or unavailable pages
• Price estimates are approximate and may not reflect current retail prices
• Suggestions are not endorsements of any product or retailer

We do not guarantee the accuracy, availability, or suitability of any AI-generated suggestion. Always verify details before making a purchase.

5. Subscriptions

Toayen offers optional Premium subscriptions (monthly and annual) that unlock a monthly-renewing allowance of personalised suggestions, on-demand guide refreshes, and a more capable suggestion model.

• Subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID and managed by Apple
• Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period
• You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your device Settings under Apple ID > Subscriptions
• No refunds are provided for partial billing periods; refund requests should be directed to Apple

6. Free tier limits

Free accounts receive a one-off welcome allowance of personalised suggestions, and we may grant additional free credits from time to time at our discretion. When your credits are used up, personalised suggestion features become unavailable unless you subscribe to Premium or receive further credits. Curated gift guides are available to everyone and update when we publish new editions; refreshing guides on demand is a Premium feature. Free allowances may change at our discretion.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Attempt to circumvent usage limits or subscription verification
• Use the personalised suggestion features to generate harmful, abusive, or illegal content
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the app
• Use automated tools to access the app's services

8. Availability

We aim to keep the app and its services available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Personalised suggestion features depend on third-party services and may experience downtime. Core on-device features work offline.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Toayen is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including but not limited to unsuitable gift suggestions, purchasing decisions based on suggested gifts, or data loss.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance. We will notify you of material changes through the app or by updating the effective date above.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
